A Timeline of Innovation

ExploreHealthCareers.org was created to address two major challenges in U.S. healthcare: increasing workforce diversity and addressing shortages in underserved areas. Launched in 2002 after a meeting convened by the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, the site aimed to support students exploring health careers. In 2006, the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) took over, leveraging its expertise to expand resources. A grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2007 further fueled growth. Between 2007 and 2010, ADEA collaborated with the Federation of Associations of Schools of the Health Professions (FASHP) to enhance career content.

In 2016, Liaison assumed management of ExploreHealthCareers.org, simplifying access to education with its expertise in enrollment services. Liaison manages Centralized Application Services for more than thirty health-focused associations, many of which have been key contributors to ExploreHealthCareers.org since the resource's launch.
